Welcome to the EziDrops Blog
Welcome to the EziDrops blog. We’ll be sharing our journey as a small family business and updates on all to do with our products.
Eye Drop Applicator Invention
Our Eye Drop Applicator came about in 2019 after I found it difficult to accurately apply eye drops to alleviate my hay fever. Such a device can’t be that difficult to create and off I went, suddenly an inventor and entrepreneur.
The creation and variations went through many iterations before the current design was perfected. Now I had to sell.
Early Interest
Boots the chemist was the first to take the product on board and agreed to sell through their 1,800 stores. The Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB) also obliged by putting the applicator on their online store. Amazon was another reseller to take us on.
Self-Funding
The only way forward was to apply for grants and business support programmes. All of them were very supportive like the University of Hertfordshire’s Small Business Incubator, Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce with their Entrepreneurial Business Foundation, Innovate UK and Manufacturing Growth Programme*.
Amanda Freeland, the Manufacturing Growth Manager for MGP in Hertfordshire, helped us gain access to capital grant funding from MGP to get the tooling made to enable the gadget to be manufactured.
“Bob Gokani has worked tirelessly to create a brand-new product from scratch, with all the technical complexity of getting it manufactured, packaged and now sold through all the right channels. It’s been such a lot of hard work, and I’m really happy that our funding has been able to help him succeed. He’s created something so useful that he’s now getting volume sales from a major retailer, as well as other pharmacy & optical distributors and the RNIB.”

The Future is Global
Now that we have resellers in the UK, including many leading chemists we are looking at the export market and adding products to our offering.
